In the recent times there has been three attempts in the making of a superhero franchise.
The first being that of father-son duo- the “Krrish” series. Although, the movie franchise may come across as a very futile attempt to someone who has turned his eyes at the big brothers of Hollywood. This franchise actually managed to earn decently at the box-office and it’s second part fought it’s way to become the second highest grossing movie in 2005 and it’s predecessor Koi..mil gaya was also a hit in the Friday earnings and raked big bucks during it’s run and the third installment Krrish 3 had a more than 80% occupancy in multiplexes as well as around 90-100 percent attendees at single screens.
So we can safely bet that this movie franchise is going strong with every movie. So what is working for this franchise? A proper campaigning or a solid script or is it the sheer star-power of Hrithik Roshan or the presence of an alien in the franchise ?
Because if other factors were why it got going, then the passion project of another Bollywood heartthrob would not have bitten the dust.
